We strongly recommend regular eye tests for everyone, both adults and children, on an annual basis unless advised otherwise by your optometrist. These examinations are vital not only for monitoring eye health but also for detecting potential signs of other medical conditions, some of which may not present any symptoms. Our ASK Eye Examination, which includes an OCT scan for patients over 25 and an Optomap 200-degree retinal image for all, offers a more comprehensive assessment compared to standard exams typically conducted elsewhere.
We also provide a domiciliary service where we can bring the eye examination to the comfort of your own home. Please ask a member of the team to find out if you or a member of your family are eligible for this service.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations or missed appointments without at least 48 hours notice will be charged at the full eye examination fee of £100. 48 hours does not give us enough time to fill in that slot with another patient who could have benefited from our services. Failure to make payment 7 days post cancellation or a missed appointment will be passed on to debt collection agencies and any fees or interest applied will be added.
Utilising Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) scanning enables us to delve deeper into the eye's health. This scan generates detailed images revealing various layers and structures within the eye that aren't visible with standard 'back-of-the-eye' photographs. With an OCT scan, we can detect certain eye conditions up to four years earlier. That's why our optometrists perform OCT scans on ALL patients over the age of 25. we believe our patients deserves this level of care.
The California Optomap provides us with a panoramic 200-degree image of the retina, allowing us to visualise over 91% of the fundus, compared to just 15% with standard retinal photography. This expanded view enables us to identify 42% more pathology. Remarkably, only around 100 opticians in the country have access to this particular piece of cutting-edge equipment!
Just as you wouldn't visit the dentist and have only your two front teeth checked, we believe in comprehensive eye care. Let's see more together!
